Piwna 47 Food& Wine Restaurant. International cuisine in Gdańsk Main Town
Piwna 47 Food& Wine Restaurant is a place that allows you to enjoy top-quality specialties inspired by the best standards of international cuisine. Everything is supplemented by a wine card that comprises 160 different wines from around the world, all carefully selected by the sommelier.
- In Piwna 47 Food& Wine, we encourage our guests to spend quality time in a beautiful interior that reflects the character of traditional French or Italian decors. It is here, that our guests enjoy excellent food and wine in the accompaniment of live music. Our restaurant simply offers delicious, fresh food, without suggesting any particular style, with just a pinch of current culinary trends - explains Edyta Ellwart from Piwna 47 Food& Wine Restaurant.
The head chef recommends rainbow trout on boletus and nut risotto, with peas and pear
and rabbit in wine and cream sauce, with caramlized carrot and peas.
What is interesting, Piwna 47 Food& Wine Restaurant offers not only dinner dishes, but also breakfasts.
- If our guests wish to have breakfast at 10 p.m. , we will prepare it. Also because we are open from 9 o’clock in the morning - explains Edyta Ellwart.
The menu doesn’t lack references to Pomeranian cuisine. Elements of regional, traditional cooking are represented by Kashubian cheeses, fruit, and vegetables from local farms. Game and fish meat come from partner farmers throughout Pomorskie region.
The menu is changed twice a year, but guests can count on weekend seasonal suggestions prepared by the head chef Marcin Faliszek.
Many of the guests of Piwna 47 Food& Wine Restaurant visit not only to eat, but also simply spend their time with a glass of wine, listening to good music (live music plays here from Thursday to Sunday). The wine selection comprises of 160 items, many of which are available per glass thanks to the use of Coravin. All wines are meticulously selected by the sommelier, Przemek Bogdański.
The restaurant is located just beside St. Mary’s Church, the oldest Gothic temple in Europe. Guests will find the warm, modern interior particularly appealing. White bricks referring to tradition of Mediterranean countries, but also somewhat reminiscent of the architectural history of the old Gdańsk, are an ideal match for numerous wooden elements. The restaurant is cozy and, because of its location, it is a perfect stop for anyone talking a walk around the heart of Gdańsk Main Town.
